At Floda Gård, our goal is to be “more like home than like Hilton Hotels.”  In other words, we try to create a friendly and a “more like home” environment that is fun and flexible yet relaxing and affordable.

Floda Gård, besides providing lodging, is also a small farm of about 40 hectares/90 acres, which consists mainly of pineforest but also some pasture. The Veman River conveniently runs adjacent, just a few meters from our northeast border.   Wildlife can often be spotted in the fields and forests of Floda.  In the winter, a herd of reindeer is also often located nearby.

This is a place rich in history.  Built in the early 1900’s, Floda Gård was originally a self contained settlement that was designed to help those with an alcohol problem to work through their addiction while offering support from others in similar conditions.  There is more about this in the history section of this site.

While this area is generally know to cater mainly to ski tourism/ winter tourism, we are small enough to be flexible to accommodate most visitor’s needs during any season of the year.  This could be a team trip, a family get-together, a small company meeting, a fishing trip – most anything.  We would be able to help with transportation, equipment, instruction, outside activities, etc

We provide accommodations in either a log cabin which sleeps up to 5 people and has its own WC/Shower/Cooking facilities as well as cutlery, china, and cookware, or in the guest house, a 6 bedroom house with a commons room with TV, a large eat-in kitchen, and WC/Shower facilities separate from the individual rooms.  As in the cabin, the kitchen in the guesthouse is fully furnished and can seat up to 17 people. All the bedding is provided, and the beds are already made when you arrive (the only exception is for the sofa beds in the cabin.  A wood-fired sauna is also available for our guests.
